Is weight loss a benefit of Liposuction?

As much as we would wish for a perfect cure to all our to our fat problems, lets face it… Liposuction isn’t a very effective weight loss treatment.  Liposuction is best thought of as a way to even out unwanted fat.  Although you may lose a few pounds on the day of surgery your body will strive to maintain its prior weight.

Proper diet and exercise are the only true and safe methods to obtain your weight loss objectives. This does not mean you need to be at your ideal body weight in order to have liposuction.  Just come to the realization Liposuction will not reduce your weight, but will improve the relative proportions of your fat deposits.

If you are somewhat overweight, but your tummy is protruding, liposuction can help a great deal to even things out.  Your tummy will no longer look large in relation to your other parts.

It is wise to remember if your caloric intake and expenditure of energy through exercise remain the same as it was before the liposuction, your weight will end to gravitate to the same level.  The good part is your fat distribution will be more even, and pleasant to look at.
